Everything Glim has added since it launched, newest first, with the day it opened to everyone, what it gives you and where it is in the app. Nothing that isn't open to everyone yet is listed here.
You can now bring photos straight from Google Photos: in the Photos step, choose "Bring from Google Photos", pick them in Google's own window, and Glim gets only the photos you chose. It's free, like any upload. Google Photos is a trademark of Google LLC.
When you add photos to a Classic film that already has animations, you choose whether they go at the start, at the end or between two photos, which is their place in the film too. Nothing already made changes, and it costs nothing.
Every step in the app now has short videos that show how it's done, in Hebrew or English, with captions. They open from "See how it's done" and play one after another, and you can read instead of watching.
Classic: write what happens in a photo, in your own words
In a Classic film you can now write what happens in a photo before it's animated, in English or Hebrew, or pick a ready-made motion. It's in the photos step, under "How should the photos move?", and it costs nothing extra: each photo is still one animation.
"Rearrange", beside the chain in the animations step, opens the whole chain: drag photos, tap their numbers or pick a ready order, such as by date taken. Between every two photos you see what will join them and what it costs, and you watch the new order before you pay.
Life Story: choose the move between every two photos before it's made
In a Life Story film's animations step, Glim suggests a move for every two photos and plays it as an example, and you can change any of them. Nothing is made or taken from your balance until you confirm, and choosing costs nothing.
You can now colour a black-and-white or sepia photo, for free, in the photo's adjust window ("Colour the photo"), before it's animated. The colours are the computer's guess, so you see the result beside the original and decide, and the original is kept.
The "Made with AI in Glim" end card is no longer offered
We removed the visible end card that you could add to a film when downloading it. The standard label inside the file, which says the film was made with AI, stays in every new film, with nothing changed in what you see.
Every film made in Glim from now on carries a standard IPTC label inside the file saying it was made with AI, with nothing changed in what you see. Older films stay as they were.
Buying opens: a package by the film's length, paid once
From now on you buy a Glim package by the film's length, paid once with no subscription. You can buy now and sign up later, and if the film doesn't move you, you can ask for a full refund.
You can now send a film as a gift, with "Send as a gift" in its sharing options: whoever opens the link first sees a sealed envelope with their name, and inside it the film and your words. Link previews, on WhatsApp for example, show only the envelope too.
Glim launched with both kinds of film, Life Story and Classic, the first animation free, free retries, old-photo restoration, an AI opening, a personal song, the event pack and an app in Hebrew and English. Everything it had from day one is listed, with each one's limits, in "What you can do with Glim".
