Cookie policy
The site sets no cookies at all. The app uses only what the service needs, and measures usage only if you agreed. No advertising pixels and no cross-site tracking.
On glim.co.il
The site sets no cookies and runs no measurement or advertising tools. If you arrived through a link with a referral or campaign code, the site keeps it in the tab's temporary storage (sessionStorage, named glim_carry) so it goes with you to the app. It's deleted when you close the tab.
In the app, app.glim.co.il
A cookie is a small file your browser keeps. These are the cookies the app sets:

glim_consent | Your measurement choice, shared by the site and the app | 1 year | Essential |
glim_refglim_viaglim_vendor | Who referred you, to give the friend discount and credit the referrer | 30 days | Functional |

glim_gp | Only if you connected Google Photos: the permission Google gave, encrypted, so the photos you chose can come over | 1 hour | Essential |
glim_gp_state | Only on the way to Google's consent screen and back: checks that the return comes from your own request | 10 minutes | Essential |

glim_localeglim_currency | The language and currency you chose | 1 year | Preference |
glim_known | That this device has signed in before, so the sign-in screen opens instead of sign-up | 1 year | Preference |
glim_drum | Whether you paused the animation on the sign-in screen | 1 year | Preference |
glim_inapp | That you chose to stay in an app's built-in browser (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook…) rather than open your own browser | Until you close the browser | Preference |
glim_browser_note | That you closed the note about uploading from this browser | 30 days | Preference |
glim_banners | Which notices at the top of the app you closed (for example about a low balance or an offer), and until when not to show them again | 30 days | Preference |
Over a secure connection, the sign-in cookies' names start with __Secure-. While signing in with Google, short-lived sign-in cookies may also be kept for a few minutes.
Local storage
The app keeps drafts of your film edits and of the song questionnaire, and changes not yet saved, in your browser (localStorage), so nothing is lost if the connection drops; a few small choices in the interface, such as advice you closed, a “later” you chose and which new animations you've already seen; and, on the page for sending photos through a link, the name you wrote, so you don't have to type it again. All of these stay on your device and aren't sent to anyone.
For the free trial, the app also sends us, once per visit, a few details of the browser (the operating system, the time zone and the screen size), and we keep only a one-way hash of them with the browser type and the first part of the IP address. A mark in the tab's temporary storage (sessionStorage, named glim:seen) keeps it to once per visit. More in the privacy policy.
Measurement
If you agree, the browser reports usage events to us, such as a page view, a step in the welcome tour or opening help, so we understand what works and what confuses. Without consent they aren't sent. Actions in the service itself, such as a purchase or making a film, are recorded in any case as part of running it. When we try two versions of a feature, the version is decided on the server from the account ID, with no cookie. We don't use advertising tools, pixels or cross-site tracking.
Other companies' cookies
- Sign-in with Google happens on Google's site, where Google sets its own cookies.
- Paddle's payment form opens inside the page, and Paddle may set its own cookies in it for security and fraud prevention, under Paddle's privacy policy.
How to change your choice
After you first sign in, the app asks about measurement. You can change your choice at any time on the account page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings; without the sign-in cookies you can't stay signed in. More in the privacy policy.
