What you can do with Glim
Glim is an Israeli service that turns photos of the people you love into a short, finished film, with AI animation, an opening, music and Hebrew titles, a gift for any moment. You make the film in your browser, on a phone or a computer, with no app to download. The first animation is free, with no credit card, and a whole film costs from ₪79, paid once; buyers outside Israel can pay in US dollars. Here is everything you can do with Glim today, with each one's limits and cost.
What's been added lately, and when: What's new in Glim
Your photos
Upload from a phone or a computer, or collect photos from family through a link, and Glim checks each photo, crops it to the film's shape, and can restore or colour an old one.
Uploading from a phone or a computer
Pick photos or drag them onto the page; iPhone HEIC photos work too.
- Limits
- JPG, PNG, HEIC or WebP, up to 40MB a photo and 85 photos an upload
- Cost
- Free
Photos from your phone, while you're on a computer
"Upload from your phone" shows a QR code: scan it with the phone's camera, choose photos, and they appear on the computer.
- Limits
- The link works for half an hour, and you can stop it sooner
- Cost
- Free
Photos from family, through one link
Relatives send photos with a line about each, without opening an account, and nothing goes into the film until you add it.
- Limits
- The link works for two weeks, and you can stop it
- Cost
- Free
A check and a crop for every photo
In about half a minute Glim fixes the orientation, finds the faces, crops each photo to the film's shape and enlarges a small one, and you can move the crop yourself.
- Cost
- Free
Putting the photos in order
Drag a photo to its place, type its number, or sort them all by the date taken or the file name, with undo and redo.
- Cost
- Free
Where new photos go, in Classic
Adding photos to a Classic film that already has animations? Choose where they go: at the start, at the end or between two photos, which is their place in the film too. Nothing already made changes: it just moves along to make room.
- Cost
- Free
Restoring an old photo
A grainy, blurry or small photo? Glim sharpens it, cleans it and enlarges small scans. The original stays: compare them with a tap, and if a face doesn't look right, switch back.
- Cost
- Free

Colouring a black-and-white photo
A black-and-white or sepia photo can be coloured. The colours are the computer's guess, so you see the result beside the original and decide, and the original is kept.
- Limits
- Only for a photo that isn't animated yet
- Cost
- Free

The film's shape: landscape, square or portrait
Landscape for a hall's screen and the TV, portrait for WhatsApp status, Reels and TikTok, and square, which works almost anywhere. Glim suggests the shape that crops your photos least.
- Limits
- 16:9 (1920×1080), 1:1 (1080×1080) and 9:16 (1080×1920)
- Cost
- Free
Photos from Google Photos
Choose photos from Google Photos in Google's own window, and Glim gets only the photos you chose. Google Photos is a trademark of Google LLC.

Two kinds of film
There are two kinds of film, and one film can join both.
Classic: each photo comes alive
Each photo comes alive on its own: a smile, a glance, wind in the hair. For varied photos, groups, trips and events, even when the people change.
- Limits
- 5 seconds of motion for each photo
- Cost
- One animation from your balance for each photo
Life Story: each photo flows into the next
Each photo flows into the next, so the years unfold in one continuous film: a child growing up, a couple through the years, parents, when the same people are in every photo.
- Limits
- 2 to 85 photos in a chain
- Cost
- One animation from your balance for each move between two photos: one fewer than the photos
Several parts in one film
One film can join several parts: a Life Story chain followed by Classic animations of the family, or the other way round, each part with its own photos, in the order you set when you put the film together.
- Cost
- Free
The animations
Each animation is a few seconds of motion made from the photo itself, and if one doesn't come out the way you wanted, you try again for free.
How each photo moves, in Classic
Choose one of 12 ready-made motions, like a smile, a wave or a shared laugh, for a photo or for all of them, each playing as an example. If you choose nothing, Glim gives each photo a motion that suits it, varied along the film.
- Cost
- Choosing costs nothing
Your own words: what happens in the photo
In a Classic film, before a photo is animated, write what happens in it in your own words, in English or Hebrew. Glim turns your words, together with the photo, into a short, precise direction for the video model, without adding anyone or changing a face.
- Limits
- Up to 200 characters. A few seconds of motion leave room for one or two actions by people already in the photo
- Cost
- It costs nothing extra: each photo is still one animation of 5 seconds
The move between every two photos, in Life Story
For every two photos Glim chooses a move that suits them and plays it as an example. Change any of them: nothing is made or taken from your balance until you confirm.
- Cost
- Choosing costs nothing
Free retries
An animation that didn't come out the way you wanted? An automatic retry makes a version with a different motion, and in Customise you write what should happen and choose a camera move. Every try is kept as a version, and you choose which goes into the film.
- Limits
- One free retry for every animation in the package, in a shared bank, and up to 15 tries a day on one animation
- Cost
- Free, from your package's retries
A face check after every animation
When the photo has a face, Glim checks it still looks like the original, and if it doesn't, makes the animation again by itself, once.
- Cost
- Free
A creation that fails costs nothing
If making an animation fails, or a check stops it, the animation goes back to your balance, without asking.
- Cost
- Free
Changing a Life Story chain
Add a photo at the start, the end or between two, take one out and join its neighbours, move or replace a photo, and see what each change costs before you confirm.
- Cost
- Each change shows its price first, and some cost nothing
Rearranging the whole chain
In Life Story, "Rearrange" opens the whole chain: drag photos or tap their numbers, and between every two photos you see at once what will join them. You can also pick a ready order, by date taken or reversed, and watch the new order before you pay. Captions, labels, chapter cards and where each song comes in move with their photo.
- Limits
- The same photos in a new order: adding or taking out a photo is a change to the chain. Until every new join is ready, the film stays as it was, then switches at once
- Cost
- A join that stays is free; a new one takes one retry from your bank, and one animation once they run out; a join made before comes back from the recycle bin for free
Putting the film together
Glim joins the animations into one film, with an opening, titles and music, and you watch it before it's made.
Watching the film before it's made
While you put the film together, it plays in the browser with its opening, music and titles, and every change is saved right away.
- Cost
- Free
An AI opening
A short opening made from a photo you choose, in a style you choose. Not happy with it? Try again, and pick the take that opens the film.
- Limits
- Up to 8 tries at the opening with a package, and 2 with the free animation
- Cost
- Included in every package
An opening and a closing of your own
Instead of an AI opening: a photo or a video with a title, or a slide with a font and a colour. And at the end: a recorded blessing, a group photo or a thank-you slide.
- Limits
- An opening video up to 90 seconds, a closing one up to 2 minutes, and files up to 500MB
- Cost
- Free
Hebrew titles, with the Hebrew and Gregorian date
Titles for the opening and the closing in Hebrew fonts, right to left, with the Hebrew and Gregorian date, in a ready colour scheme or your own colours.
- Cost
- Included in every package
Light editing: trims, captions and chapters
For each animation you can shorten the start or the end, add a caption and an age label, open a new chapter with a title and pause on the last frame. In Classic you also change the order.
- Limits
- A calmer pace makes each animation about 15% longer
- Cost
- Free
A personal song
Tell us about them in a few short questions, Glim writes the words, and you read, change and approve them. The song, in Hebrew or English, is sung in an AI-made voice; you get two takes and keep the one you love, and its words show as captions on the film's page.
- Cost
- Included in every package
Music from the library, or a song of your own
Up to 5 songs playing one after another, each from the moment you pick, from Glim's library or a song you upload with a rights confirmation. You can also have the cuts land on the song's beat.
- Limits
- A song of your own: MP3, M4A or WAV, up to 40MB
- Cost
- Free
A quiet memorial film
For a memorial film Glim suggests quiet openings, a memorial candle, calm music and fitting words, and the share page shows no promotion.
- Cost
- Free

- 5 more animations with 5 retries: ₪29; 20 more retries: ₪29
Not moved? A full refund
Within 30 days of buying you can ask for a full refund of a package or an add-on, with no reason needed, even if you've already made animations.
Bring friends, get animations
For every 3 friends who buy through your personal link, 20 animations come to you, with no limit, and a public post about the film earns 5 animations once it's checked. As the law requires, the message and the post open with "Ad".
Privacy and safety
Only you decide who sees your film, and you can delete your photos at any time.
A content check on every photo and every animation
Every photo passes a content check before it moves, and every animation is checked once it's made. A photo that's stopped costs nothing, and you can ask a person on the team to look.
